In response to the dire need, Expolanka Freight staff donated essential goods including clothes, food and toys to the IDPs in May 2009. The goods were handed over at the BMICH collection centre by a team consisting of Mr Jagath Pathirane Director/CEO, Mr Gazzali Arifeen/GM Air Exports, and Mr Ahamed Ashker/Head of Ocean Exports, Mr Adrian Mahesanandan/Manager Air Exports and other staff. This was another humanitarian CSR project done by Expolanka Freight to bring much needed relief and "a smile" to the displaced in Wanni's transit centres.
The Airline Division of the Expolanka Group made its contribution to the welfare of the Internally Displaced Persons of the North by donating essential items and clothing. These items were handed over to the ITN office in Battaramulla on the 24th of April 2009 to be sent to the refugees.
